Intended Audience :

The Basic Russian Language is for the general public from Indonesia and global audience with novice level. The general public of Indonesia is the intended audience since this course is still very rare found in bahasa Indonesia. The global audiendce will also get benefit since the online courses for this course is also still limited. The novice is the target since it is the basic level of learning the Russian Language. Since the intended Audience is theIndonesian and English speakers, all videos will use Bahasa Indonesia with the English subtitle.

Course Description :

The Basic Russian Language course is designed to provide the students to communicate in the basic level of Russian Language for expressions, vocabularies, parts of speeches, clauses and simple sentences using active learning such as Student Centered Learning and problem-based learning using audiovisual means.

    • Main Topics :

    • Kiril Alphabet and Stress in words
    • Basic expressions such as greetings, introductions, inquires (news, days, dates, professions), courtesy (thank you, sorry and excuse, congratulations)
    • Russian Nouns and Cardinals
    • Noun Clauses with Adjectives, Possessive Pronouns, and Ordinals
    • Russian Verbs (presents and past tense)
    • Russian Preposition Case for nouns (for locations, time – month, using vehicles)
    • Russian Accusative Case for nouns (for main objects, locations, time – day)
    • Sentences with conjunctions (and, but, because).

      • Course Design Approach :

    Self-paced activities are applied for this course. Various teaching methods such as Student Centered Learning, problem-based learning are also conducted in this course. The materials are composed in order to facilitate the students enhancing the ability to communicate in Russian Language in basic level. The asynchronous method is applied with components such as online lectures, self-study and self-assessment, and resource accessibility.

    • Technologies :

    1. Video Streaming: video contents for materials and tests to provide lessons and assignments for students in Bahasa Indonesia with English subtitled
    2. Online Collaboration Tools: for group discussions, projects and peer evaluations.
    3. Digital Libraries and Databases: access to related materials and videos will be provided to support individual studies and assignments. These are also very helpful to enhance the students' comprehensions.

    Learning Objectives :

    By the end of this course, learners should be able to communicate in Russian Language in basic level using basic expressions, vocabularies, clauses and simple sentences.

    Learning Activities :

    This course will combine various activities:

    1. Reading and Watching materials with engaging topics such as foods, animals, professions, weather and transportation.
    2. Online Discussions using interactive forums will be provided so the students can communicate one another and to the teacher and run discussions for chosen topics.
    3. Quizzes and Assignments are prepared to find out the students' understanding of the material provided. Short Quizzes will be provided in the middle of each video to make sure students remember the materials and assignments will be in last to make sure students understanding the materials.
    4. Reflecting Journals for students to keep in order to record their performances and understanding of the materials provided.
    5. Peer-Assessment to promote the feedback from other students and self-assessment skills.
